The Alcock Mystery
I have been so busy launching the wonderful Murray Pollinger Collection of Samuel Alcock Porcelain that I have not even had the opportunity to show you the column I wrote about this for Homes & Antiques,.. but here is the story about this beautiful antique British porcelain.
As I wrote in my previous blogs, I have worked all year on this very unique collection that miraculously found its way to me. For many years I had been trying to find out about a mysterious collector I had heard about on the grapevine, and just as I had given up ever finding him, I was contacted by his family to help them deal with this significant collection.
Although heartbroken that I never got to meet Murray Pollinger as he had just passed away, I am thrilled to be able to offer my clients these beautiful pieces, and perhaps even more so because of the thorough research that comes with them. Murray Pollinger was a passionate and important collector. Now that his pieces are starting to be dispersed all over the world, his family is delighted to know that they are being treasured by a new generation of collectors and porcelain lovers.
So why Samuel Alcock? And what is so special about this? You can read the full story in my article, which you can find here... and if you want to read all my columns hot off the press, see below for a discounted subscription link to Homes & Antiques.
