Wileman’s Snowdrop cups are probably the most desired ones they made, with their flowing elegance and very thin porcelain. The Petunia design is also among the most wanted. Wileman had a way of keeping in step with the going fashion, while never comprimising tis own style; in the 1880s they came out with many lively plant and flower designs that perfectly fit the fashion of the Aesthetic Movement, and around 1900 they made many designs that were close to Art Nouveau. This is one such design, with deep turquoise, maroon and green – a wonderful combination.
This cup got sold as soon as it entered the shop, but I still wanted to share its beauty! it was listed here in my Antiques shop.
