More teapots – Sadler, 1940s

Sadler was the undisputed king of teapot makers in the 20th Century. Their pottery in Staffordshire churned them out to all British households, and beyond. This is a very sweet trio of a teapot, milk jug and sugar box. They are in the very desiredΒ “Cube” model, allowing for nice panels with picture displays. This is the Lady in Crinoline, a very popular figure in the 1940s whoΒ adorned many tea ware items. She comes in pink, in yellow, and here in beautiful purple crinolines. Whether you love or hate these romantic items (all call them kitsch…) you’ll have to admit these are very charming! All three items are in mint condition and seem to have hardly if ever been used. You can find the listing here in my Vintage shop.
